Police Sport in UK

Police Sport U.K. has over 300,000 officers and staff and is the official organisation representing police force sport for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Our PSUK U.K. Equestrian Section must be the biggest police equestrian club in the U.K!

The PSUK Equestrian Section was established in 2017 and since that year we have never missed a beat (pun intended!) bringing you fabulous equestrian championships and amazing competitions year on year without fail.

We are excited to welcome you into the police sport family where you can enjoy friendship, camaraderie, kindness and support. Within this space we can share our passion for horses and recalibrate for positive mental health and our physical well-being. Our connections with horses support us in many ways, not least helping us achieve balance away from our dedicated and often challenging professional lives of public service.

We have a thriving equestrian section membership with riders from all police forces able to compete across a range of disciplines from grassroots through to some giddier and more advanced levels. There really is something for everyone and any equestrian can participate with us and alongside you because we run different rider sections at all our inclusive events. For ALL police service employees, officers and retired officers – with your police sports club membership - you are automatically part of our team!

How do I stay in touch?

Follow our Facebook PSUK BLHS Show page for upcoming event details. Keep updated with other news and results on our PSUK Equestrian Section website page.

How do I participate in a BLHS Equestrian Championships

Short Answer: Just enter!

Longer Answer: All events are pre-entry only via online entry systems – details of which are posted to our Show FB page per event. There are no expensive pre-qualifiers pathways – just Show Day Championships. A friendly, professionally run and welcoming show with fantastic awards across all sections.

I am a Police Rider – how do I join?

For PSUK section - if you are a member of your force sports clubs – you are automatically a member with us! Nothing more to do – You’re in!

I am a U.K. Protective Services / Emergency Services / Armed Forces rider – can I compete too?

Yes, you can – add your service details to your entry notes so we know the Service you represent to line you up for the correct awards should you trail blaze for your section!

I am not in any Services – is there anything I can enter?

As a non-services rider we place you in our Open section. Come along with your Service friends or family or arrive with your other open section horsey buddies to meet and compete alongside the Services riders in our classes – try and beat them to the top-class placings!
