Our men's team have once again been involved in several excellent fixtures starting off with the Betfred Challenge Cup at the beginning of the year. We then headed to Scotland in April to take on the Scottish Universities with the aim of further advertising Police Rugby League and identifying new players. In September the side suffered a narrow loss to the UK Prison Service in what was an excellent match played at Featherstone ARLFC in West Yorkshire.

We have once again continued to develop our community engagement / charity work. This included the All-Stars fixture at Portico Vine ARLFC (Merseyside) in June which saw a GB select take on a host of ex-professionals. This was in support of various charities including the Steve Prescott Foundation, MND Association and Doyle Phillips Foundation. A truly amazing day with over £10,000 raised!

The team then headed to Old Aldwinians Rugby Club on the 6th July to take part in the Manchester 9s tournament in support of the Christie Cancer Charity. The team narrowly lost in the final but of course the real winner was the charity and again a sizable amount of money was raised.

In addition, our players and staff have also visited several locations and attended various events in support of local charities including the Children's Heart Surgery Fund, Alzheimer's Society and MND Association. Perhaps the best is yet to come with our annual Christmas hospital visits where we will again deliver presents to the Leeds General Infirmary Children's Unit and Alder Hay Children's Hospital in Merseyside.
